Pictured from left to right: Joshua Wiemer, Chris Walsh, Rudy Quintero, Robert Alpaugh, Whitney Allmon, and Charles Post. Chris Walsh is the Account Manager of the Programs. Joshua Wiemer, Rudy Quintero and Robert Alpaugh are 3 of over 30 Career Source of Palm Beach County graduates through the East Coast Metal Structures training plan. Those who successfully complete the welders training program have moved up the ladder to become not only certified welders, but shop foreman, crane operators, product safety coordinators, estimators, and field superintendents.
The teamwork between Career Source and ECMS has seen over $150,000 in government grants to help make this program a success. At East Coast, we not only actively seek out opportunities for those in the community to become productive members of society, but in addition have a veteran’s hiring preference. “Granted there are government incentives for participating in these types of programs; however, the benefit has been shown in the retention on our work force. Those who have not stayed have only moved on to higher paying jobs for the certificates they earned from our job training” as stated by ECMD Vice President, Charles Post who oversees the program at East Coast.
We are very excited about the Career Source upcoming programs which include: 75% reimbursement for CAD training, CareerSource paid internship for welding studies, and re-authorization of the better in tax credit.
